RBMA History

RBMA accomplishments through the years

RBMA has existed for 50 years because of you – our members.  Our archives have shown us 50 years of Progress Through Sharing that includes many evenings of members enjoying drinks and dinners.  RBMA would like to thank all of you who have supported RBMA and are the living proof of Progress Through Sharing. Without your dedicated support we would not be here today – we are 50 years strong!

In 1968 with the support and direction of the American College of Radiology (ACR), the first steering committee met in Chicago under the guidance of Dr. Calhoun.to develop an organization that has its purpose stated as 1.  “Provide for the development and recognition of radiology business managers, and 2, “To improve the administration of radiology practices, enabling radiologists to concentrate on providing their services to the public thus holding down the cost of those services to the public.”

Today our Mission Statement reads: RBMA is the leading professional organization for radiology business management, offering high value knowledge and applied business information for its members and the health care community, and helping shape the profession’s future.
