In this session, we will discuss the advancements in AI technology in radiology. While the current focus is on interpretive, pixel-based AI, exploring the benefits of non-interpretive AI is crucial. This technology can improve all aspects of the imaging value chain, such as clinical decision support, patient scheduling, study protocoling, imaging modality operations, dose reduction, worklist optimization, and more. We will also explore natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI, which have gained popularity due to ChatGPT, and their potential applications in radiology. We will examine how AI technologies can revolutionize the radiology sector while balancing hype and reality by discussing their limitations. The final segment of the session will focus on how non-interpretive AI can support administrative and operational use cases in radiology, such as optimizing scheduling processes, aiding demand forecasting and capacity planning, and streamlining workflows to boost operational efficiency. We will also look ahead to potential advancements in the field and how they might further transform radiology.

After this session you will be able to:

1. Understand the role and potential of non-interpretive AI in radiology
2. Gain insight into advanced AI technologies like natural language processing (NLP) and generative AI
3. Explore the operational and administrative applications of non-interpretive AI in radiology
