In this session you will learn more about what is Ransomware, how is Ransomware a growing “industry” within our industry, reasons why healthcare is a target, the most common causes of ransomware attacks and the 5 most common ransomware types. You will also hear about 3 real ransomware attacks and how it impacted their practice or hospital. Lastly, some tips will be provided on how to reduce your risk of an attack and knowing your weakest link.
About our speaker:
Michelle Venable, CMPE, FMC, is a Vice President of Radiology
Client Services and has been a member of MSN’s senior
management team for 12 years. Michelle has superior relationships with her
clients and provides a high level of service across all areas of the revenue cycle and
practice management spectrum. She has 34 years of experience in the medical
billing industry with extensive knowledge of radiology billing, managed care
contracting, and provider enrollment.
In 2023, Michelle was named President of the Radiology Business Management
Association’s Delta States Chapter, an organization which supports the business of
radiology across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, after serving as President –
Elect for 6 years. She is a member of the national RBMA and is a Certified Medical
Practice Executive (CMPE) through the Medical Group Management Association
(MGMA) where she also holds a certification in financial management. Michelle is
a long-time member of MedicineLouisiana, an organization that serves physicians,
as an advocate working with policy makers at all levels of government
