Kathleen G. Bailey, CPA, MBA, CPC, CPMA, CPC-I, CCS-P is a frequent speaker for nationally recognized professional organizations and specializes in providing training for coding certification (including ICD-10-CM), A/R management, managed care negotiations and physician relationships. Understanding from experience that healthcare organizations could benefit from business expertise, Ms. Bailey founded Practice Management Solutions in 2006. Prior to this she worked as a practice administrator for anesthesia, radiology, general surgery, OB/GYN, primary care and internal medicine practices for over 25 years. In addition, she has worked in the education arena for over six years serving as Dean of Online Programs for a college in Tampa Florida and as an adjunct instructor for several ground-based and online universities in their healthcare programs. She holds accounting and MBA degrees from FSU and is a CPA, licensed in FL and GA.
Catherine Baumgartner, PhD, is a member of the faculty for the World Campus eMHA program at Pennsylvania State University. She is also president of Catherine Baumgardner & Associates, Inc., a practice devoted to guiding leaders and teams in creating healthcare organizations that deliver on their promise to the customer. As both hospital administrator and consultant, she worked extensively with radiology services. Dr. Baumgartner has a PhD from Pennsylvania State University in Workforce Education and Development, and an MHA and BSBA from Ohio State University. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Rachel Bergmann is the director of marketing and professional relations for Gem State Radiology and Intermountain Medical Imaging – a practice dedicated to providing quality diagnostic and therapeutic imaging services to the greater Treasure Valley communities. With over 18 years in radiology, Ms. Bergmann has worked extensively in customer service, marketing, physician relations, and business development.Ms. Bergmann has a Bachelor of Science from Boise State University in health information management and is currently enrolled in a digital marketing program through New York University. She is the current secretary for the Rocky Mountain RBMA chapter, and has previously participated at the board level as a western director, marketing chair, and program committee member.
Judy Burleson, MHSA, has been employed by the American College of Radiology for 10 years, currently as senior advisor of quality metrics. She serves as the lead staff for the ACR Metrics and Quality Management Committees. In these roles, she participates in radiology quality measure development and implementation, interacts with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding their quality programs, provides educational materials on CMS and other quality management programs to radiology groups, and is involved with national organizations such as the National Quality Forum and the AMA Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement. Her experience also includes healthcare IT consulting, proposal management at a PPO, a US Navy officer and rural social work.
Keith Chew, MHA, CMPE, is managing director, strategic positioning & consulting solutions and senior vice president of Integrated Medical Partners, LLC (IMP). Prior to joining Integrated Medical Partners, Mr. Chew was senior strategic consultant – practice consulting solutions at McKesson Business Performance Services. For more than 25 years, he has served as a healthcare thought leader and subject matter expert with direct experience as a consultant, hospital vice president of physician network and ancillary services, director of practice management and practice administrator for both large and small medical practices. Mr. Chew has demonstrated expertise assisting physicians and hospitals with practice leadership solutions, management, and operations improvement. He currently serves as president of the Radiology Business Management Association and as chairman of the medical imaging assembly of the Medical Group Management Association. Blake Darsow is an assurance and consulting manager within the health care group of CliftonLarsonAllen. He splits his time between physician group assurance engagements, CLA Intuition® engagements, and consulting projects such as financial projections, benchmarking analysis, and reimbursement analysis. He previously managed audit engagements for hospitals, health plans and senior living organizations. Mr. Darsow also has experience preparing Medicare cost reports, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and internal control testing and design. Mr. Darsow received undergraduate degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth in accounting and political science. He is enrolled in the evening MBA program at the University of St. Thomas.
Fred Downs, MS, PhD, is the practice administrator for Diagnostic Imaging Specialists (DIS) a 20 member radiology practice in Atlanta. Prior to joining DIS in 2001, he held numerous senior executive positions in large private and academic healthcare systems. He is active in the Radiology Business Management Association where he serves on its board of directors. Mr. Downs is an adjunct professor of healthcare management at Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University.
Renee Engle RCC, FRBMA, is the senior vice president, client services for Management Services Network (MSN). Her expertise includes a background in nursing with over 25 years of experience in medical practice management. She has in-depth knowledge of CPT®, ICD-9, and ICD-10. She now serves as president of the Radiology Coding Certification Board (RCCB). Ms. Engle currently serves on the ACR CPT and Nomenclature Committee, RBMA Payor Relations Committee and Carrier Advisory Committee. She has served as a Director-At-Large on the RBMA Board of Directors and RBMA’s liaison to the Radiology Coding Certification Board (“RCCB”).
Brian Everso is a tax manager in a national CPA firm with over 20 of work experience. He has predominately concentrated on serving private companies and their owners in tax planning and tax compliance matters. Brian has a solid corporate tax background working with various types of entities, such as C-corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, and LLCs/LLPs in industries such as manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, resale, construction, real estate, and service companies. He has represented taxpayers in IRS and state tax audits. He has instructed several in-house Firm training courses on various tax topics and written several articles published in trade magazines.
Bruce W. Gay, PMP, is a program manager with UPMC Enterprises, the commercialization arm of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) whose mission is to solve complex health care challenges through innovative ideas. Bruce currently manages a multi-year, multi-million dollar software development program to develop the next generation of Radiology Informatics systems. His background includes 20 years of project management experience across healthcare IT, telecommunications and military/defense industries.
Davis G. Graham has been the executive director/CFO of Manatee Diagnostic Center, Bradenton, Florida for 20 years. Manatee Diagnostic Center is an outpatient radiology center with 75 employees that completes approximately 270 procedures a day with four radiologists at four different locations. They are accredited by the Joint Commission, ACR and the first ACR Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence in Manatee and DeSoto Counties. He is currently attending graduate school at Brandeis University pursuing a Master’s of Science in Health and Medical Informatics. Mr. Graham married Trish in 2002 and they have four children. Has has been blessed with the gift of dyslexia and is able to read and write with assistive technology without barriers.
Carol Hamilton, MBA, SPHR, FACMPE is the practice administrator for West County Radiological Group. She currently serves on the RBMA Membership Committee and is the co-chair on the RBMA Educational Products and Materials Committee. Carol has been an RBMA member for 10 years. She has her MBA from the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
James E. Hamilton, MHA, FRBMA, CMM, is the administrator/business manager for Medical Imaging Physicians, Inc., a radiology practice in Dayton, Ohio. He has managed radiology practices since 1978 in southwestern Ohio. As a passionate healthcare manager, he has also been chairman of The Breast Cancer Foundation for 15 years, an organization which promotes education and awareness in women’s breast health. Mr. Hamilton is the 2008-2009 past-president of Ohio Radiology Business Managers Association and three time member of the Board of Directors for the national Radiology Business Managers Association. He also owned a medical billing company for 15 years.
Carrie Harding has worked in healthcare compliance for over 15 years, focusing on HIPAA for providers and compliance program implementation. She has worked with large health care systems and has served in the roles of privacy officer and compliance officer. Ms. Harding is certified in healthcare compliance and healthcare privacy and security. A member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), she volunteers for Girl Scouts of Colorado and has spent over 20 years encouraging young people to pursue careers in science and health care.
Jeff Hauser is an IT professional with 30 years of technical and managerial support experience in business analysis and problems solving skills utilizing technology to develop and deploy effective technology solutions. A key attribute is a broad range of technical knowledge and experience managing and supporting industry applications and networking environments. This range of experience includes various and different size companies from large corporate environments to military to small business.
Janice Honeyman-Buck, PhD, FSIIM is the Editor–in-Chief of the Journal of Digital Imaging, the official peer reviewed journal of the Society for Imaging Informatics (SIIM). In addition, she is an online faculty member at Baker College and Southern New Hampshire University where she teaches Healthcare Informatics to undergraduate and graduate students. She served as the Director of Informatics at the University of Florida, Department of Radiology for 19 years prior to her retirement and works occasionally as a consultant and expert witness. She has published numerous articles and presented work in PACS and Informatics internationally. Her current interests are in the legislative impact on healthcare informatics and consumer health informatics. She is active in volunteering to teach and mentor seniors on the use of their computers and mobile devices. She also instructs on best practices in searching for reliable medical information and setting up personal health records.
Katie Jame is a consultant with Camden Delta. She specializes in talent management, strategic workforce planning, leadership development and organization change and effectiveness. Prior to joining Camden Delta, she was an associate consultant in AonHewitt’s Talent Practice. She then transferred to the Sydney, Australia office and worked as a human resources business partner and managed the human resources operations team.
She received her BBA from Goizueta Business School of Emory University, where she majored in management and finance. While in Australia, she studied at the University of New South Wales and received her Masters of Commerce, specializing in organizational behavior and management.
R.L. "Skip" Kennedy, MSc, CIIP, is the Technical Director for Imaging Informatics for Kaiser Permanente, Northern California. He leads the operations for PACS and related systems for radiology, cardiology, and various Visible Light workflows. He is active in the Society for Imaging Informatics, serving as faculty for the Society meetings, and a frequent speaker at SIIM and other national meetings. He has authored various book chapters and popular press articles, the most recent being the recent SIIM textbook for PACS. He also serves on the ABII test content committee for the development of the CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) Board test.
Will Latham, CPA, has worked with medical groups to help them make decisions, resolve conflict and move forward for more than 25 years. During this time he has facilitated over 900 meetings or retreats for medical groups, helped hundreds of medical groups develop strategic plans to guide their growth and development, assisted over 130 medical groups improve their governance systems and change their compensation plans and advised and facilitated the mergers of over 120 medical practices representing over 1,300 physicians Mr. Latham has an MBA from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a frequent speaker at local, state and national, and specialty-specific healthcare conferences.
James L. Littlefield, MD is a retired Board Certified Nuclear Medicine and Internal Medicine physician. He served as the Director of Nuclear Medicine for the majority of his time with West County Radiological Group from 1998 until his retirement in 2015. Dr. Littlefield is also an adjunct professor at St. Louis University School of Medicine as well as an avid world traveler, seeker of knowledge and trivia champion.
Wendy Lomers, CPA, MBA, is the chief financial officer for Acclaim Radiology Management. She joined Acclaim in February 2010. A certified public accountant, Ms. Lomers also holds a Master’s degree in management. She has 30 years of experience working with medical and radiology practices as a CPA, CFO, and a chief administrator. Acclaim is a revenue cycle management firm that exclusively serves the imaging industry. Ms. Lomers is currently serving as immediate past president of the Radiology Business Management Association having previously held the office of treasurer.
Kim Longeteig, FRBMA, principal and creative director of Ali`i Marketing & Design, has worked, collectively, in marketing, advertising, graphic design, and social media for over 20 years. She is an active member of the Radiology Business Management Association and currently serves on the RBMA Board of Directors as secretary. She was the recipient of the RBMA Global Achievement Award in 2011 and received the designation of Fellow in 2013 as well as receiving the Special Recognition Award for her work in rebranding the RBMA.

Ken Manning has worked in clinical, industrial, and research diagnostic healthcare settings for 28 years. A certified radiology administrator, Mr. Manning is also a certified nuclear medicine technologist. Previously, he was a hospital clinical manager, and also a director for CTI, Inc., the company that invented PET imaging. More recently, he has been the C.O.O. for Trident Medical Imaging. He holds a M.S. in health care administration, and is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators, RBMA, and a former member the American Heart Association Board of Directors.
Sara McFarland is the communications director for Tampa, Florida-based marketing and management company, Atlantic Health Solutions. She works with radiology and radiation oncology departments across the country, helping them develop their marketing strategies. As head of her department, Ms. McFarland manages all social media, online reputation management, creative development, branding and campaign creation for clients and Atlantic Health Solutions. Her expertise has been shared in her presentations at RBMA’s Building Better Marketing Programs and she also serves as a guest writer/contributor for Ragan’s Healthcare Communication News.
Juli Ochs is a healthcare director with CliftonLarsonAllen who provides operational and risk assessments for clients as well as financial audits. She has over twenty years of audit experience and three years as a member of an internal audit team. Ms. Ochs approaches a financial audit with a focus on understanding of “how the entity functions”. Focusing on controls, she can help an organization identify opportunities for efficiencies and strengthen core functions. As a practicing external auditor, she has worked with a variety of clients, including senior care, critical access hospitals, large healthcare systems and small non-profit community needs organizations.
Nicole Palmer is currently the Vice President of Practice Management Services for Management Services Network (MSN) a national billing and practice management services organization. In this role, Ms. Palmer provides client practice management services and financial services and also manages the Consulting Division of MSN. Ms. Palmer has spent over 20 years working specifically with radiology practices to increase the effectiveness of their financial management as well as the management of their billing operations. In the last 7 years she has focused on working with practices on strategic planning and consolidations. The consulting work she has done has been national and she was instrumental in designing and implementing several large divisional radiology practice mergers. Ms. Palmer is also an active member of the RBMA having served most recently as a Chairman and then Co-chairman of the Data Reporting and Collection Committee.
Paul Pitts, J.D., MHA, Reed Smith, LLP., is a partner at the law firm of Reed Smith where his practice focuses on advising imaging facilities, hospitals, physician groups and other health care providers on fraud and abuse laws, payment and coverage issues, and participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. In addition, he has negotiated and drafted a wide variety of contractual arrangements between health care providers with an emphasis in restructuring and joint venturing imaging centers and independent diagnostic testing facilities.
Barbara F. Rubel, MBA, FRBMA, is senior vice president, marketing and client services, and provides comprehensive support services for MSN Clients from the Request for Proposal (“RFP”) process through account implementation. Her expertise is in business development, health care marketing, managed care contract negotiations, and legislative and regulatory issues. She is a past president of the Radiology Business Management Association (“RBMA”), and most recently served as Chair, RBMA Federal Affairs Committee. Ms Rubel holds the Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Mercer University Atlanta, as well as a Master of Music from Ohio University.
Joseph A. Serio, FRBMA, FACMPE, CPA is the chief operating officer of Radiology of Huntsville, P.C. (ROH). ROH is the largest, most highly sub-specialized radiology practice in north Alabama employing 32 radiologists. ROH provides general and specialty radiology coverage to six hospitals, two breast centers, ten outpatient imaging centers and multiple physician offices. Mr. Serio serves as a managing member of an affiliated health information technology services company. He has 34 years combined healthcare experience in hospital and physician practice settings. Mr. Serio holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and masters in business administration degree from Vanderbilt University. Frank G. Shellock, Ph.D. is a physiologist with 30 years of experience conducting laboratory and clinical investigations in the field of magnetic resonance imaging. Len Shephard has been involved in radiology billing for 20 years, Prior to then, he programmed computers, including the first game of Monopoly on a PC, a comprehensive test scoring system for teachers, and the first software for Fantasy Sports commissioners. In the field of radiology, he has directed software installation and support teams, then run billing operations for doctor groups. He currently directs the billing for over 80 providers, including 40 radiologists for Phydata in Middle Tennessee.
David Smith, FACMPE, provides management and advisory services for radiology groups and imaging center operators, with a focus on strategic positioning, organizational development, revenue cycle management, and imaging center operations. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, and a Master’s degree in health services administration, and holds professional certification as a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He has over 20 years experience as a healthcare executive, and has been very active with RBMA and other professional organizations as a leader, committee member, writer and moderator.
Judith Jurin Semo is an attorney in private practice in Washington, D.C. specializing in health care law and representation of anesthesiology practices. As counsel to several national medical specialty associations and anesthesiology practices nationwide, she has had extensive experience in business and legal issues relating to the practice of medicine.
