Advanced Education Subcommittee

The Gist: This group focuses on high-level leadership development programming across the RBMA education portfolio. Members help shape advanced content for C-Suite practice leaders and strengthen leadership pathways for emerging managers. AES also supports and advises on the I LEAD Leadership Academy structure, mentor/mentee experience, and ongoing curriculum development. This is a working committee with active project work between meetings.
Time Commitment: Monthly one hour conference calls, additional calls / document review as needed.
Meeting Times:   Determined annually using a scheduling poll
Desired Skill Set: Content development for seasoned and emerging leaders; evaluating and designing programming for an advanced level of thinking; helping to identify and grow leaders to support succession planning. 

Belonging and Growth Committee

The Gist: Carries out our mission by emphasizing connection, personal and organizational development, as well as maintaining a welcoming member community.
Time Commitment: 
Monthly one hour conference calls, additional calls / document review as needed.
Meeting Times: Second Thursday of every month, 2-3 p.m. ET
Desired Skill Set: 
We’re seeking a broad mix of perspectives and experiences to help ensure our committee reflects the full range of voices within our community. Individuals who bring unique personal or professional viewpoints, or who have completed training focused on inclusive leadership or team development, are encouraged to apply.

Data Collection & Reporting Committee

The Gist: Guides RBMA’s data strategy and survey work, including surveys such as Administrative Compensation, A/R Survey, Physician Compensation, ACR/RBMA Workforce Survey, and Hot Topics polls. Members review survey design, assist with interpretation, and help ensure that RBMA’s data tools meaningfully support members. 
Time Commitment:
Approximately two hours per month (monthly committee call, develop or provide feedback on committee projects, author one RBMA Bulletin article and at least one Hot Topics poll annually).
Meeting Times:  Determined annually using a scheduling poll.
Desired Skill Set: Data-informed decision-making; interest in benchmarking, compensation, practice trends, or analytic methods; willingness to review and provide constructive feedback; clear writing skills. 
 

Federal Affairs Committee

The Gist: Identifies issues, prepares positions and communicates positions to internal and external audiences, pertaining to: (1) regulatory developments and (2) federal and state legislation affecting Medicare and other appropriate health care matters of interest to RBMA members.
Time Commitment:
 Monthly one hour call, additional calls in August-September developing RBMA response to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Rules, attendance at RBMA LEARN (preferred).
Meeting Times: Second Tuesday of every month, 12 p.m. ET
Desired Skill Set: Interest in federal and state advocacy issues, including RBMA’s filing of responses to the CMS Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Rule; advocating on behalf of radiology issues with members of Congress and federal regulators; interest in health care payment policy.

Finance Committee

The Gist: Oversees the financial and operational matters having to do with finances and appropriate expenses of the RBMA in consultation with the Board of Directors.
Time Commitment:
 Approximately one hour per month (conference call); 2-3 hours per month in November/December for budget preparation.
Meeting Times: Fourth Tuesday of every month, 1 p.m. ET
Desired Skill Set: CPA, financially savvy, data driven, comfortable with spreadsheets and formulas.

Membership Committee

The Gist: Supports efforts to grow and sustain RBMA membership by helping shape recruitment strategies and strengthen member retention. Contributes to the development of the New Member Orientation and explores additional outreach opportunities to engage both prospective and current members.
Time Commitment:
 One hour monthly call. One hour bi-annually for the New Member Orientation. Small active projects outside of committee meeting times.
Meeting Times:  Second Tuesday of every month at 3 p.m. ET
Desired Skill Set: Relationship Building, Creativity, Marketing, Strategic Thinking, Outreach, Passion for People, Retention Strategy, Member Engagement
Other Information: We value different member viewpoints and try hard to construct this committee with a wide representation of backgrounds, including various positions within a radiology practice, ranging practice sizes, vendor companies and consultants.

Payor Relations Committee

The Gist: Increases the communication, coordination and cooperation of administrators, managers and radiologists on issues concerning government and private payors.
Time Commitment: Monthly one hour calls, on-site meeting at PaRADigm (preferred).
Meeting Times: Third Friday of every month, 11 a.m. ET
Desired Skill Set: 
Interest in insurance payor payment policy issues as it relates to radiology (sample issues include: steerage policy, benefit management organizations, payor payment issues and member education related to payor payment issues).

Program Education Subcommittee

The Gist: Members identify topics and develop programming for RBMA’s in-person events, including PaRADigm and SYNC. This committee reviews session submissions, shapes the conference learning flow, and collaborates with speakers to strengthen educational quality and relevance. Much of the work occurs during PaRADigm and SYNC planning cycles.
Time Commitment: Monthly meeting, with additional time during proposal review and session selection periods 
Meeting Times: Determined annually using a scheduling poll.
Desired Skill Set: 
Ability to identify timely, relevant issues affecting radiology practices; interest in content design; ability to review and evaluate proposals; comfort collaborating with others to curate strong educational programs.

Vendor Committee

The Gist: Identify and develop broad opportunities for corporate partners to promote their services and share educational expertise with members.
Time Commitment:
 Monthly conference calls annually each lasting 60 minutes or less.
Meeting Times: Varies
Desired Skill Set: Sales and marketing knowledge, practice management, creative out of the box thinking.
Other Information: Aiming for a blend of vendors and practice leaders.

Virtual Education Subcommittee

The Gist: Members help shape RBMA’s online learning strategy, reviewing and recommending topics for webinars, learning series, and reusing existing content for new learning. The committee also advises on new digital formats and how to enhance member engagement online.
Time Commitment: Monthly 1-hour meeting  per month for idea development, reviewing proposals, and refining session planning.
Meeting Times: Determined annually using a scheduling poll.
Desired Skill Set: 
Understanding of industry learning needs; interest in continuous education and new instructional formats; openness to new engagement approaches in virtual environments; familiarity with current radiology business challenges.

Young Professionals Subcommittee

The Gist: Focused on engaging and recruiting a younger generation of radiology business professionals into the RBMA community.
Time Commitment:
 Bi-Monthly Conference Calls (1 hour); special assigned projects throughout the year (30 minutes maximum 4 times per year; attendance at PaRADigm (preferred).
Meeting Times:  First Thursday bi-monthly odd months at 3 p.m. ET
Desired Skill Set: Desire to foster connections, passion for engaging younger professionals, creative thinking, networking, outgoing, future leader.
Other Information: Looking for a diverse representation of radiology industry professionals.
