Surprise Billing
Presented by: Kit Crancer (CDI) and Mark Isenberg (Zotec Partners)

While the 116th Congress is now turning its attention to the issue of out-of-network (“surprise”) medical bills, the issue has been under discussion in many state legislatures for a number of years. Today, about half the states have some form of law addressing “surprise” bills under state-regulated health insurance products. The issue has garnered substantial media attention and has the potential to have a lasting impact upon provider reimbursement, network adequacy, price transparency, and access to care.

CMS Date of Service Reporting
Presented by: Bob Still, FRBMA (RBMA) and Linda Wilgus, CPA, CMPE (Northwest Radiology Network)

During the session, participants will learn the history of regulatory guidance by CMS as it relates to what date of service should be on a claim form to HCFA, the date of service the patient was scanned (technical component) or the date the radiologist actually rendered the interpretation. In addition, presenters will share the pros/cons associated with the current guidance and RBMA’s efforts to work with CMS on accepting either the date of service or date of interpretation. Participants will leave knowing CMS’s current position and RBMAs advocacy efforts.

Medicare Physician Fee Schedule 2020 Proposed Rule on Evaluation and Management Services
Presented by: Pam Kassing, MPA, RCC, FRBMA (American College of Radiology) and Angela Kim (American College of Radiology)

This webinar will focus on the proposed changes to the Evaluation and Management (E/M) CPT codes and payments and the effect this might have on radiology reimbursement. Although radiologists do not traditionally bill a significant amount of E/M services, this new policy causes budget-neutral adjustments that affect the radiology practices’ financial bottom line. Discover the next steps to take to prepare for upcoming new regulations and guidelines
