  • Operationalizing Interoperability Impact in Your Radiology Practice

    Through case studies, the presenter will illustrate how interoperability impacts radiology practices in the areas of scheduled workflow, radiation dose management, and capture of appropriate use criteria consultations. The Oxford definition of interoperability is the ability of computer systems or software to exchange and make use of information and the presentation will include an introduction to interoperability terminology. In the session, see how communication of data elements related to the performance of an imaging study is necessary for communicating results, documenting the service in the patient’s record, billing for the service, and reviewing workflow and productivity. The maximum standardization of these elements and their location in an electronic feed will result in the more efficient and effective use of them. Different operational environments will be utilized in the case studies to allow all participants to project themselves, and their infrastructures, into solutions that can benefit their organizations.
    At the conclusion of the session, the attendee will be able to:

    • Share how standardization of data elements and electronic formatting can benefit the radiology practice
    • Discuss with providers how these elements can be utilized in their workflows and the billing process
    • Apply the information gained to better utilize interoperability techniques in your practice

    This deep-dive deals with communication, engagement, and interaction in person and virtually to help leaders communicate effectively with peers, providers, patients, and the public. The session will bring participants through the Interaction essentials exercise to enable participants to handle a variety of challenges and opportunities they encounter every day in the workplace and beyond. Participants will identify strengths and opportunities to propel interpersonal skills and get things done by mobilizing and engaging others.
    At the conclusion of the session, the attendee will be able to:

    • Achieve results through others by building strong interpersonal relationships
    • Impact business outcomes by consistently meeting the personal and practical needs of others

  • Excel Fun! Tips,Tricks, Pivot Tables, and More!

    Excel Fun! is intended to demonstrate how to maximize Excel for simple and quick set up, beginning with an understanding of pivot tables, key radiology formulas, and the simplicity of keyboard shortcuts in your day-to-day use of Excel. The presentation will be light and humorous, but circles back around for a clearer understanding of the power of Excel to handle large data sets specific to radiology.
    At the conclusion of the session, the attendee will be able to:

    • Become familiar with and capitalize on Excel tips/tricks to improve data manipulation efficiencies and speed
    • Simplifying key formulas for use in radiology
    • Demystifying Pivot Tables for daily use in radiology
