Leading with Strong Decision Making and Execution
Leo Hopf, the University of St. Thomas
In today’s fast-paced work environment, leaders do not always have the luxury of time when making a critical business decision. Yet, everyday leaders are asked to make decisions without enough information and with the added complexity of human agendas and preferences. It is no wonder many of us struggle to confidently make quality decisions and are often paralyzed or pressured into pathways of least resistance. Because of this crisis, are you now faced with making more complex decisions such as but not limited to changing life and family balance of your employees, managing new regulations, managing remote workers, technology challenges and the list goes on and on. In the workshop, the presenter will share techniques and tools to help you envision how your decision will play out immediately and down the road. You will also be shown how to execute your decision with the organization’s short and long-term goals in mind. Walk away from the virtual session knowing how to become a stronger leader by making good decisions and executing them appropriately.
At the conclusion of the morning session, you can:
- Identify how your industry is changing and determine how well you are prepared by using tools provided during the workshop
- Determine where to place your bets for excellence, even if other things must slip

Finance, Business and Revenue Cycle Management Healthcare Finance
Dave Gorman
The revenue cycle is key to a business manager’s knowledge base. That key becomes exponentially more important in the current COVID era. Along with essential information from the general principles of the healthcare system, application to the current economic state of the country and radiology specific nuances, we are definitely leading into a complicated path to sustaining our practices. This hands-on three-hour workshop dives deep into some of the options available to practitioners who are planning to shift into management or recently moved into the role. During the workshop, learn how to talk “healthcare finance,” how you are paid, plan an appropriate budget, share and/or discuss the revenue and expenses with your management team, and effective day-to-day management of your business. Combine that with current real world economic issues and return to your practice knowing how to optimize the financial health of your practices.
At the conclusion of the afternoon session, you can:
• Assess the role of the business/finance manager, especially in the current economic climate
• Demonstrate familiarity with the revenue cycle
• Apply your new knowledge immediately when you return to the office.
