Coding Academy: Dos and Don'ts of Coding
DESCRIPTION: Join your fellow coders and managers for a one-day event to cover hot topics such as Clinical Decision Support, Coding Department Management including hiring and retention, efficiently coding to prevent Medical Necessity Denials and what to do and who to contact when denials do occur.  During this full-day workshop, you will gain invaluable tips and strategies that prepare you, your coding team, and your practice for the future whether you are a coder or a manager. These sessions will be critical to your overall success and continuation of process improvements.  

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Identify, hire, retain and manage a skilled coding force that will continue to grow, change and adapt as the medical coding and billing world evolves.
Prepare and maintain a medical coding staff that is knowledgeable to code accurately, compliantly, within medical necessity guidelines AND knows how to handle denials and communicates effectively with physicians to maximize reimbursement.
Build an action plan to implement AUC/CDS to ensure a smooth transition and a troubleshooting guide to handle those referring physicians that are non-compliant.
 
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations must be made in writing. If written notification is postmarked by May 10, 2019, a full refund less $100 administrative fee will be made. No refunds will be made after May 10, 2019. If you are unable to attend and you wish to transfer your registration to another individual, written notification is required. No refunds or cancellations for events requiring additional fees will be made after May 10, 2019.  PHOTO RELEASE: RBMA reserves the right to photograph conference activities for use in publications, including electronic publications, or in audio-visual presentations, promotional literature, advertising, or in other similar ways. By submitting this application, I hereby give RBMA and their legal representatives and assigns, the right and permission to publish, without charge, photographs taken at the event.  LIABILITY WAIVER: I agree and acknowledge that I am undertaking participation in RBMA events and activities as my own free and intentional act and I am fully aware that possible physical injury might occur to me as a result of my participation in these events. In case of cancellation of or programmatic change in the meeting for reasons beyond the control of the RBMA, it is understood that the liability of the association shall be limited to the refund or credit of the amount paid at the discretion of RBMA. By submitting this application, I give this acknowledgement freely and knowingly and that I am, as a result, able to participate in RBMA events and I do hereby assume responsibility for my own well-being.
