Committee Descriptions

Bylaws
Keeps the RBMA Bylaws current and consistent with the goals and purposes of the organization on both a national and a state chapter level.

Chapter Committee
Serves as a liaison between the State Chapters and RBMA National. 

Coding Education Task Force
The Coding Education Task Force is charged with reviewing current coding education offerings  and offering guidance regarding the development of new coding education opportunities. 

Communications
Addresses policies related to e-communications, including the Forums, e-flash and RadCast, and products and services for www.rbma.org.

Editorial Subcommittee
Editorial review and guidance for articles appearing in the RBMA Bulletin.

Data Collection and Reporting
Develops an information database about the radiology business management profession, through the use of surveys, including but not limited to the Manager Salary and Benefits Survey, the Accounts Receivable Survey and the Imaging Center Survey and alternative collection methods. The focus of the committee is to provide information for utilization, outcome measurement, productivity and financial management purposes.

Educational Materials and Products
Provides self-directed education to RBMA members in the form of print, Web, audio-visual and other appropriate non-programmatic media.

Executive
Oversee the operation of the Executive Office and staff as assistance is required by the Executive Director.

Executive Education Task Force
The Executive Education Task Force is charged with developing the content and faculty for RBMA’s Executive Education program.

Federal Affairs
Monitor and educate members about, identify issues and prepare positions, and communicate positions to internal and external audiences, pertaining to: (1) regulatory developments and (2) federal legislation affecting Medicare and other appropriate healthcare matters of interest to RBMA members.

Fellowship Selection Committee
Fellowship Committee oversees the RBMA’s Fellowship Program which is the process of bestowing Fellowship on deserving RBMA members based on their contributions to RBMA and the radiology business management profession.

Finance
Oversees the financial and operational matters having to do with finances and appropriate expenses of the RBMA in consultation with the Board of Directors.

Foundation Feasibility Task Force
The Foundation Feasibility Task Force is charged with investigating and recommending to the RBMA Board of Directors whether or not the RBMA should create a 501c(3) foundation.

Liaisons 

ACR Liaison
Supports the relationship between the American College of Radiology (ACR) and RBMA.  Coordinate the contact and activities between the organizations.

ACR CAC
American College of Radiology Carrier Advisory Committee/Managed Care (ACR CAC/MC) Liaison facilitates communication about Medicare carrier policy and formalize a state-by-state network with the RBMA. Coordinate activities with the ACR Economics Department.

AHRA Liaison
Represents RBMA to The Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) and identifies opportunities for collaboration.

ASTRO Liaison
Represents RBMA to American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and identifies opportunities for collaboration.

HBMA Liaison
Represents the RBMA to Health Billing and Management Association (HBMA) and identifies opportunities for collaboration.

MGMA Liaison
Represents the RBMA to Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and identifies opportunities for collaboration.

RCCB Liaison
Facilitates communication between the RBMA and the Radiology Coding Certification Board (RCCB).

RSNA Liaison
Coordinates activities and support the relationship between the RBMA and the Radiological Society of North America, Inc. (RSNA) as part of the Associated Sciences Consortium. Ensure that the RBMA is represented at the RSNA Associated Sciences Consortium Annual Conference on behalf of RBMA.

Membership
Expand the RBMA member base and facilitate the renewal of current memberships.

Membership Recognition Task Force
Investigate the need and interest in an RBMA professional certification program for radiology practice business managers/practice administrators.

Nominating
Provides leadership development through the creation of a Board of Directors' slate of candidates for approval by the membership and recommendations for Officers for approval by the Board.

Payor Relations
Increases the communication, coordination and cooperation of administrators, managers and radiologists on issues concerning government and private payors.

Programs
Determines the content for the two annual conferences and e-Seminars, and oversees the work of the specialty seminar subcommittees - all according to the needs of members.

Coding Subcommittee
Serves as a point of contact for coding questions and to monitor coding issues as they relate to managing a radiology practice.

Marketing Subcommittee
Provide members with information and guidance on how to best brand and market a radiology business; how to get positive press and how to become the foremost practice in the eyes of referring physicians.

Technology Task Force
Serves a resource for RBMA members and the Board on: (1) electronic health/medical records, (2) radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and (3) understanding of the meaningful use of certified EHR technology. 

Vendor Relations
Strengthens a positive working relationship with vendors.
